About our organisation



About us:


Ø  Guiding Light Association (GLA) is an organisation which was established in the year 2010 in Colombo, Sri Lanka in order to enhance the quality of communal work as well as look in to the development and the welfare of the underprivileged citizens of the rural areas around Sri Lanka. Our non-profit organisation involves a body of dedicated social workers within the island and is highly dedicated to transforming the status and the standing of the social work profession in which the ultimate benefit is given to those who are in need.

Our Mission:
Ø  Our mission is to provide the underprivileged citizens of Sri Lanka relief and reintegration and aid these needy individuals during difficult times whilst making them stakeholders in the development process by preventing them falling into such devastation.
Our Vision:
Ø  Our vision is to help build a better Sri Lanka and direct our country and its citizens towards a caring and righteous society.
Our Objectives:
·         Enhancing the skills and the knowledge of underprivileged children and children who have various disabilities.
·         Improving vocational skills of disabled citizens and granting them independency,
·         Early intervention and assistance for children with special needs.
·         Empowering the voluntary organisations that help provide assistance to the underprivileged
 Citizens of our country.
·         Proving adequate funding for vital social service projects when in great need.
